I Want To Make A Difference

this has been a constant prayer of mine: Lord, i want to make a difference for You!

each new day brings with it opportunities to choose how you’ll represent Him. do your actions, words, decisions and thoughts bring Him glory or cause people to question whom you serve?

i will, one day, make a big splash in the world but not if i don’t do it today!

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, Ephesians 1:11

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8

Today Only

these days, we tend to look so much at our future that we overlook what the Lord sets before us today.

the other day i was speaking to a friend who “one day wants to inspire others” in her field. she was saying as long as that was what she ended up doing, she’d be satisfied with her career. i simply said to her “if you inspire someone today, you’ll inspire someone forever.” i truly felt the Lord had used me to speak to her, as she was stunned by the simple yet profound concept.

isn’t this true for all we do?
* fulfill your purpose today, and you’ll fulfill it forever.
* do His will today, and you’ll do it forever
* do [you fill in the blank] today and you’ll do “it” forever.

live for today, until tomorrow becomes today, then do it all over again!

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. ‭Matthew‬ ‭6:34‬

where: here!

so often I find myself looking to the future. where does God want me? what am I to do? how will I get there? what is my calling? all great questions but I need to be careful these questions do not keep me from where He has me right now.
today I ask myself: what is my calling in this moment? what is He calling me to do now, in the places He has me? how can I bring glory to His name here and now?!

every opportunity has a shelf life, so to speak. if not me, He will use someone else.
seize the moment!

In the same way, the Son of Man did not come to be served. He came to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many people.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:45‬

Today Is The Day

some people are goal setters. they can look to the future and know exactly where they want to be and they fix their eyes on the prize until they get there. this … is not me. I live for today! this is not to say I don’t think or even press on for the future, but I’m not pressing toward any one thing but whatever it is He has for me! and ultimately, my residence in Heaven.
it’s not a secret that I live for the everyday moments. (the title of this blog gives that away) but the Bible encourages us to. God gives us enough for today and doesn’t promise tomorrow for anyone. so live today! encouraged that He gives us what we need, when we need it! and enjoy whatever this day holds (the good, the bad and the ugly)

When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7:14‬

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:34‬

First Things First

how do you start your day? what’s your first thought? words? action? I think it’s very important to get in the correct frame of mind from the get go! it hasn’t been easy over the years but now I can say, I don’t even think about it. my first and only thought right out of the gate, when my alarm goes off, is a personalized Psalm: This is the day the Lord has made, I WILL rejoice and be glad in it!

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (‭Psalm‬ ‭118‬:‭24‬ ESV)
