i may differ than most when i say trials are welcomed in my life. here’s why, i know the Lord is doing a work in me when they occur and He’s molding me into more of the woman He’s designed me to be. more times than i’d like to admit, i fail but that’s exactly how we learn! i like to believe, He is “trial-ing” me because He thinks i’m ready. and if i fail, it just means i’ve got more to learn!
thank you Lord for picking on me!
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I’ve never been convinced that making New Year resolutions is a good thing. I get the concept, of course, but they almost always end with feelings of failure because we didn’t follow through to the extent we thought or even at all.
2014 was quite possibly one of the biggest years of growth for me. I didn’t start the year saying I was even going to make the changes where they took place. what I did do, was give each day to the Lord. allowing Him to move and grow me where He saw fit. the result, a better me and no sense of failure. instead of making a yearly resolution, make it a daily one! success will surely follow!
Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day. (2 Corinthians 4:16 AMP)
what do you call success? a happy marriage? thriving children? a steady income? beautiful home? expensive car? lots of friends? a fat savings? by the world’s standard any one of these would label you successful but in reality, none of these are a success unless the Lord is honored through them! I’m not saying that any of this makes you successful [or not], what I am saying is whatever you have, or do, is not a success unless God is glorified in it!
Honor Him in all your successes and failures… nothing matters if we aren’t striving to bring Him glory!
So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31 NLT)
