He’s not hiding. are you doing your part to find Him? He is present in every moment and has very willingly planned out our day. we just need to look for Him every step of the way. He is there!
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalm 9:10
that’s the key: seek Him!
i love this verse. i love the use of the word never. if we seek Him in all we do, He promises to guide. look for Him in every circumstance, setting and situation, in what we’re pursuing or even if we are just going about our mundane day. He is our Director and doesn’t leave as long as we are trying!
let’s be honest… today I’m struggling, period. it seems I get to a great spot and then BAM! something happens that sends me into a tailspin. I’m thankful for these times of reality because it gives me the chance to not just talk but walk my walk! times like these also allow me to take a look at areas in my life I still need to work on and give entirely to Him! He’s always working therefore I know this is temporary. He has something greater in mind! thank you Lord for helping me to grow! and allowing me to still feel a sense of completeness even in the midst of this difficult time.
it is no accident that I found the following reminder this morning:
“Abandonment, sorrow, struggle and pain — all these are transitory. Wholeness, healing, joy and peace are permanent, for they are part of the very nature of God. That is what sustains the believer through difficult times.” taken from NIV Quest Study Bible
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; (Lamentations 3:25 NIV)
to whom do you run when the crap is hitting the fan? although it is a beautiful thing to have family and close friends to run to, who is your first point of contact? I was in that very moment just a short hour ago! and to be quite honest, I couldn’t run to anyone because it was 4am. even my life-lines on the east coast were most likely still asleep. I will be the first to admit, I almost sent out that “HELP! What am I going to do?” text, not caring if the other person was even awake to answer. but His voice kept asking, “what about me?” over and over. so, I put the phone down and went to Him. and He gave me the following verse:
Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
I earnestly seek You, Lord, in this ugly situation. Speak, for your child is listening!
