Lord,

i need you and i need you now!

in moments like these, don’t forget He is always right by your side, ready and willing! but remember, what we think we need may not be what He knows we need!

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs‬ ‭16:9‬

These Can’t Be The Only Choices

ever been there? looking at your current situation and shaking your head? wondering where to go? and seeing the only choices before you don’t seem to fit what God would have? good thing He doesn’t see with our eyes! when things look hopeless, don’t forget who knows what’s coming. don’t forget the One who set you on the current path you’re on. the bible tells us to “live by faith, not by sight.” so let’s trust that His will shall come to pass, in His time, no matter what it may look like to us.
there is another choice. you may just have to trust Him to make it for you!

For we live by faith, not by sight.
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:7‬

#winning

the bible says “In this world you will have trouble,” so I’m never surprised when trouble comes. life happens, circumstances get burdensome, hearts break, situations become down right hard and darkness can inevitably ensue. but it doesn’t have to. let’s not forget the second part of the verse, “I have overcome the world.” Jesus has already won, therefore we can already win!
when darkness tries to rear it’s ugly head remember, Jesus IS light! and where there is even a small glimmer of light, darkness disperses! let Him in!

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:12‬

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
‭‭John‬ ‭16:33

He Knows

stripped. pushed. beat up. smacked. sucker punched. crushed. swollen. bruised. breathless.

ever felt like this?

don’t forget He has too!

when times like these come… remember He survived! and so will you!

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:5‬

Time For Some Grappling

let’s be honest… today I’m struggling, period. it seems I get to a great spot and then BAM! something happens that sends me into a tailspin. I’m thankful for these times of reality because it gives me the chance to not just talk but walk my walk! times like these also allow me to take a look at areas in my life I still need to work on and give entirely to Him! He’s always working therefore I know this is temporary. He has something greater in mind! thank you Lord for helping me to grow! and allowing me to still feel a sense of completeness even in the midst of this difficult time.

it is no accident that I found the following reminder this morning:

“Abandonment, sorrow, struggle and pain — all these are transitory. Wholeness, healing, joy and peace are permanent, for they are part of the very nature of God. That is what sustains the believer through difficult times.” taken from NIV Quest Study Bible

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; (‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭25‬ NIV)

Where Are You Going?

I spend a lot of time driving. it not only allots me time to think but time to observe actions of others on the road. one pet peeve of mine is when other drivers do not use their turn signal. as I was switching lanes one day last week, and was almost rammed by a car two lanes over vying for the same spot between us, [thank you Lord for your protection], I said out loud “how am I supposed to know where you’re going if you don’t tell me” (yes, I talk to myself in the car) almost instantaneously my words echoed, “how are they going to know where you’re going, if you don’t tell them?” Christ-followers, our lives should be an example. pointing others to Christ ultimately signaling to them where we are going: Heaven!

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ NIV)

3 Words

I know I’ve talked before of how sometimes God speaks to me with simple words. whispers of comfort in times of need. maybe it’s a testament to how busy I’ve been or to just how intimately He knows each and every one of His creations and how to meet us exactly where we are.
today’s words:
God is Bigger!

whatever it is you are facing:
God is Bigger!

you can’t take another step:
God is Bigger!

there’s no reasonable solution to your problem?
God is Bigger!

but I just can’t stand this anymore:
God is Bigger!

HOW?!!
God is Bigger!

I think you get the point 😉

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ NLT)

What’s In Your Rear View?

I know there is a saying that states something like: you can’t look forward while looking in your rear view mirror. this may very well be true, and I obviously understand the concept, but I’m also a firm believer in looking back to see how far God’s brought you! this concept holds true in a couple situations. 1) when you’re in a difficult season, looking back and recounting what He has done for you in the past, certainly can give you hope in your current state. 2) when you can glance back into a time when you were a different version of yourself. it is quite astounding when you realize the growth from where you aren’t anymore!
we may not always know what’s going on, but He does!

Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” (‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭7‬ NIV)

Self-Pity Is Faithlessness

self-pity is one of the ugliest emotions a person can allow themselves to feel. of course we all have been guilty of it one time or another.
I’ve heard self pity explained as such: “self pity is always because of unbelief. in that moment [of self pity] we’ve lost all faith and don’t believe God will do anything for us.”
we all have those situations that can so easily bring self pity. instead of letting it rule you, acknowledge you have a Defender and let Him do His job!

for their Defender is strong;
(‭Proverbs‬ ‭23‬:‭11‬a NIV)
