someone once told me “if it doesn’t hurt than it’s not a sacrifice.” giving is easy, when it comes to having plenty. (I’m not just talking money but also time and talents) obviously, there is nothing wrong with giving out of plenty (as long as it’s cheerful), the world needs more people like that. but to give out of your need takes on a new level: truly trusting in the Provider of all things!
“Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” (Luke 21:3, 4 NIV)
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV)
