… have you ever looked at your face in a magnifying mirror? wow!, they certainly do reflect it all! more than we want to see sometimes. every hair, blemish and imperfection. things we are able to turn a blind eye to because we think others can’t see. things we don’t want to deal with because typically we can’t see them or wish weren’t there. but who are we kidding? the reflection doesn’t lie.
instead of picking up the magnifying glass to view others (see 3/17/15 entry) how about taking a look at ourself in the magnifying mirror? asking God to reveal that which needs attention in our own lives.
Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye. (Matthew 7:5 NLT)
Create in me a pure heart, God, and make my spirit right again. (Psalms 51:10 NCV)
