Nowadays it seems as if the criteria for becoming a celebrity is extremely warped, to say the least. Unfortunately, this has left a lack of positive role models in our lives (not to mention, in our children’s lives) I’m finding it very hard not to get on a soap box as I think of all the crap we look at, watch, say, repeat, read, listen to… and the lack of morals we’ve just accepted or worse yet, are numb to. What constitutes fame? When does someone actually possess star quality? How have we lost sight of what a true star is? There is only One worthy of our admiration, only One worthy of our emulation. A child born in a lowly manger, sent to love us with an unconditional sacrificial love, and to be an example for all to follow.
Now that’s a Star worth looking up to!
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. (Luke 2:11 NIV)
