I have this cat that insists he is to be an outdoor cat, even though it’s been established he is an indoor pet. without fail, whenever one of us heads for the door, here he comes darting towards it, as if he’ll slyly find his way out or that maybe, just maybe, we’ll let him out this time. I understand his curiosity, but he doesn’t understand the dangers that would lie ahead.
this is not unlike us in relation to our Heavenly Father. how many times has He told us not to do or say something or not to linger on a thought? He knows what’s best for His children and yet we still think we know best. we have no idea what He is protecting us from when He tells us no. we need to get better at listening because No means No!
Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord, the one you teach from your law; you grant them relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked. (Psalm 94:12-13 NIV)
