Better Version

repentance to some seems like a dirty word. it’s been seen as both weakness and/or a reminder of failure. but without it, it’s impossible to grow. without asking for God’s forgiveness, humbling ourselves for just a moment or two, how can we move on? we can’t! I tell my kids all the time, “it’s not a mistake unless you don’t learn from it.” to do this you must admit wrong has occurred. if we can repent of our “failure” we are well on our way to becoming a better version of ourselves.

Create in me a pure heart, God, and make my spirit right again. (‭Psalm‬ ‭51‬:‭10‬ NCV)

Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. (‭Acts ‭3‬:‭19‬ NLT)
