no one is promised tomorrow, not a one! therefore, live for today! accept God’s blessings today! walk His will today! thank Him for today!
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34
This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24
Today Is The Day
it’s ok to doubt. if you’re not sure if what you’re hearing is really from the Lord, ask Him. this happens in both the Old and New Testament. Gideon and Thomas asked for proof; Gideon wanted to know if what the Angel of the Lord was telling him to do was really God and Thomas wouldn’t believe that Christ rose from the dead until he could see it for himself. in both cases, their doubts were dissolved.
but here’s the kicker … you’ve got to move! once He has shown you it’s really Him, you’ve got to do as He has commanded (even if it sounds absurd)
Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised— look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said.” Judges 6:36-37
Now Thomas (also known as Didymus ), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” John 20:24-25
He’s not hiding. are you doing your part to find Him? He is present in every moment and has very willingly planned out our day. we just need to look for Him every step of the way. He is there!
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
when someone deems themselves fit to judge you, consider the source and remember only One opinion matters! perhaps the worst kind of ignorance is someone who thinks they know your situation even though they haven’t walked a day in your shoes.
don’t let anyone, other than The One, dictate your worth!
Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Romans 8:17
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30
i may differ than most when i say trials are welcomed in my life. here’s why, i know the Lord is doing a work in me when they occur and He’s molding me into more of the woman He’s designed me to be. more times than i’d like to admit, i fail but that’s exactly how we learn! i like to believe, He is “trial-ing” me because He thinks i’m ready. and if i fail, it just means i’ve got more to learn!
thank you Lord for picking on me!
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
judging others on what you think is the whole story or what you believe happened is a huge pitfall. you can never know exactly what someone else is experiencing. please be careful of your actions, you may never know the hurt you cause because you assume something to be true!
i’m so glad God has the final say!
To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue. Proverbs 16:1
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4
i need you and i need you now!
in moments like these, don’t forget He is always right by your side, ready and willing! but remember, what we think we need may not be what He knows we need!
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9
Only One Word
are you content in your life? If you can answer yes to this question, then I suggest diving deeper. whether it’s deeper into relationships (especially the one with Christ), deeper into education, or deeper into yourself to figure out what the Lord wants you to do next.
if you are not so content and are unsettled, left wondering what am I to do, pursuing these same things will work well for you also.
I once heard it said, “contentment is the enemy of growth.” i tend to agree!
But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.” John 5:17
thankfully, not me! who are we to know what God has for us? let’s approach each day, not decided on what we have to do, but rather what He wants us to do as we take care of the responsibilities He has placed before us. there isn’t anything that can come our way that can shake us, if we are firmly planted in Him!
He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord. Psalm 112:7
we have excuses for everything, don’t we? especially when we are wronged or hurt by others. our initial, human response is to return to them “what they’ve got coming!”
in a word … don’t!
there is no excuse that makes us qualified to judge the situation. we have the perfect example of a Man, in His own right, who could have fought back, but didn’t!
He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.
1 Peter 2:23
